Our team in Exeter is working closely with the volunteer barristers at Advocate. As a result of our new partnership, people going through Exeter Crown and County Court get the help they need.
How the new clinic works
The new family law clinic will provide support for anyone who has been considering Private Family Law proceedings or Family Law Act proceedings. Consequently, they can now book a 40-minute, face-to-face appointment with a volunteer barrister.
The volunteer barrister from Advocate will provide legal advice relating to merit, next steps and understanding the proceedings.
Next steps
This is where CASS+ steps in. Following the initial free legal consultation, the Advocate barristers will send their clients our way for free practical advice, emotional support, and ongoing help. This is how our new partnership with Advocate works.
Volunteering at Exeter Court
To register as a volunteer barrister with the Advocate Scheme, contact Jessica at southwestprobono@weareadvocate.org.uk or Lottie at charlotte.mallinmartin@guildhallchambers.co.uk.
The CASS+ team is dedicated to finding creative solutions for people facing many disadvantages. We listen and give free practical advice, emotional support, and ongoing help for as long as people want.
