We have a vacancy for a Clerk to the Board of Trustees. We’re celebrating our 20th anniversary and looking to the future with renewed strategy and momentum. As a result, you will be joining at an exciting time.
Administrator and communicator
You will be an excellent administrator and communicator, able to manage information with confidentiality and discretion. More importantly, you will be fully supported by our friendly and welcoming Board of Trustees. As you grow into the role, you will learn how to facilitate efficient meetings, and all about legal compliance.

You will be joining a team passionate about changing the lives of people going through the Justice System, thereby reducing the risk of re-offending in Devon and Cornwall.
We give free, confidential, practical help and emotional support for people going through court and into life beyond. Additionally, we are free, and independent of the system. We sit down and listen. We build trust and use our knowledge and connections to find solutions to complicated situations. Most importantly, we guide towards positive change and stay by their side for as long as they want us.

Key responsibilities
Your key responsibilities involve:
- Circulating meeting agendas to trustees
- Scheduling and attending four quarterly trustee meetings (approximately three hours each)
- Taking accurate meeting minutes
- Circulating meeting minutes and any relevant Board papers
Please note, this role is funded with an honorarium of about £1,800 per annum, plus reasonable expenses.

Most of the work for this role can be undertaken remotely, with attendance at Board Meetings four times a year.
