We are hiring a Coordinator at Exeter Crown Court
You will be joining our team at a very exciting time of growth.
Our ultimate goal is to make advice and support available in every court across the UK. As a result, we’re hiring a new full-time Coordinator in Exeter.
Are you compassionate and empathetic? Do you share our drive to reduce the risk of re-offending? Are you keen to support people experiencing the Justice System?
This is your chance to build something from scratch.
What we do
Our system does not always address the root causes of crime. As a result, anyone can end up at court alone, feeling powerless, trapped and terrified. CASS+ is independent of the system, perfectly-placed inside the courts in Exeter, Newton Abbot, Plymouth, Bodmin and Truro. We listen and give free practical advice; emotional support; and ongoing help for as long as people want. Find out more here.
What you will do as Coordinator at Exeter Crown Court
You will help people through the court process by: actively listening; explaining what’s going on; deciphering court language; sitting by their side inside courtrooms; coordinating their needs; keeping accurate and up-to-date records; liaising with magistrates, solicitors, probation, police, District Judges, CPS, ushers, court cells, social services; and working with local organisations.
You will be part of a dedicated, friendly and knowledgeable team of staff and volunteers guiding people towards a more positive future, especially when it comes to…
- …spiralling financial hardship and debt
- …homelessness and accommodation
- …general wellbeing
- …domestic abuse
- …substance use
- …mental health, including depression and anxiety
- …literacy issues
- …general court support
- …education, employment and training
Our beliefs drive us
We believe that with the right emotional and practical support and life-changing opportunities, anyone can reach their potential, creating safer communities where we can all thrive.
To sum it up, we are passionate about reducing the risk of re-offending.
This role of Coordinator at Exeter Crown & County Court will suit anyone who enjoys variety and can support each client by understanding that many people have complicated lives or have experienced past trauma. As you will be working with vulnerable adults, you will need to complete an enhanced DBS check.
We put people first. This means that you will be fully supported with access to our inhouse wellbeing and training programmes.
