Why fund CASS+?

Many people are at risk of continued contact with the Justice System because they face complicated situations. This leads to repeated demands on the health service and other statutory services.

These needs can be met when someone is in crisis at court. We are in the right place at the right time. We can get people the help they need and divert away from offending behaviour. This reduces demand on services and saves the public purse across the whole system.

For example, successful interventions coordinated at one of our hubs can avoid prosecutions that cost tax-payers thousands of pounds.

We do everything we can to support people affected by the Justice System.

We’ve focussed on social inequalities since 2005 and now have 14 staff at five sites in five courts, six trustees, about 25 volunteers, and, each month, we serve around 150 through the Justice System and into life beyond.
