We are one of eight organisations selected to provide Executive Mentoring, advice and support for the 12 Peer Researchers in Plymouth, organised by Changing Futures Plymouth.

Changing Futures Plymouth

CASS+ is one of eight organisations offering mentoring in a new Executive Mentoring Scheme from Changing Futures Plymouth.

As a result, we will be giving extra support for some of their 12 Peer Researchers in Plymouth over the next year.

We are extremely fortunate to have our very own Peer Researcher, Patrick Cunningham for two days a week at Plymouth Magistrates’ Court and employed by Improving Lives Plymouth. Unquestionably, our clients benefit from that extra empathy and compassion that Patrick brings from his personal experience of the Justice System.

Networks change futures in Plymouth

All across the city, there are some incredible, long-standing organisations run by people who are passionate about changing lives.

We’ve been recognised as an organisation with the experience and knowledge to make a difference, alongside some well-loved partners:

The Zone Plymouth supporting young people facing homelessness

BCHA providing homes for Ukrainian and Afghan refugees

Hamoaze House and Harbour Plymouth with provision for anyone affected by alcohol and other substances

Shekinah finding accommodation and employment, and improving wellbeing, alongside training and personal development opportunities

Trevi Women, known across Plymouth as a safe and nurturing space for women to start afresh

Plymouth City Council and Skyspace, a local consultancy helping teams become resilient, positive, and productive through change.

One-to-one mentoring is the key to a positive future

Above all, this programme will increase employability opportunities for the Peer Researchers. Each of them will get 1.5 hours of valuable one-to-one mentoring each month. This means that we will be helping with professional development, support for job applications and networking opportunities. We wish everyone going through this scheme success in the job market.

Working together

All in all, we’re looking forward to sharing our understanding of the Justice System. As a result of all this, more people will get exactly the right support and opportunities that they need to reach their potential. We believe wholeheartedly that this can only happen by working with everyone to create strong, connected, inclusive communities.
